Radio54 African Panorama is launching a campaign fuelled by the love to provide school shoes to children across Africa. This initiative aims to ensure that no child has to walk to school barefoot, promoting dignity and comfort.Did you know? Over 7 million children in Africa go to school without proper footwear, risking injury and infection. In South Africa alone, nearly 3,000 children from poverty-stricken areas received school shoes, socks, and shoe polish through similar initiatives.
In Sudan, 19 million children are out of school due to conflict and poverty, with many lacking basic necessities like shoes.
In Nigeria, about 10.5 million children aged 5-14 years are not in school, and many of those who do attend lack proper footwear.
In Malawi, 47% of children do not possess basic material needs such as a blanket, pair of shoes, or more than one set of clothing.
Radio54 African Panorama is open to donations and financial support from well wishers and fans. The “no strings attached” financial injection will help cover the following:
- Operational Costs: Running a radio station involves expenses like electricity, equipment maintenance, internet and studio space.
